In my own study, I found what subjects or items people search the most for. This was based on my own search habits and from others. When asked what they search for after arriving at a website? They said:
- Phone number
- Hours of operation
- Price quote/discount offers
- Business name
When I build a mobile website now, I include these on the home page menu as my foundation.
Noting as the rule of thumb goes for mobile, mobile users are mobile and they want their infomation
now. They do not want to spend a lot of time tapping on buttons that do not have relevance to what mobile users want or are looking for.
If they have a water link in the home, they want a phone number to a plumber NOW!
If an out-of-towner is looking for a restaurant, they want the location NOW!
If they are looking for a price/offer, show them where right NOW! (Mobile Coupons)
If they type in a business category, help them recognize the business they are familiar with NOW! (for SEO)
If they forgot where the location is of a business, show them where it is NOW!
I hope these suggestion helps everyone
