The Front Content settings is where you put the essential details of your mobile pass, like discount value, event schedules, points, etc. In this step, we create the basic details for a discount coupon.
Notes before proceeding:
Item Name:
The Item Name is the identifying element for the label and data text field. The item name must be unique within the entire scope of the pass.
Remove spaces if you have more than 1 word, otherwise you
will see a %20 when you export your pass data.
Good: Discount, Discount-today, DiscountToday Bad: Discount Today (will appear as Discount%20Today in CSV)
Fixed Value:
A fixed text value will appear the same across all devices. This can be used to statically describe the field (i.e. Name, Card Number). If you push a change to a fixed text value, it will affect all devices.
Fixed values are best used to describe a particular field. If you don’t anticipate a value to change in the future, save it as a fixed value.
Dynamic Value:
A dynamic text value may appear different across devices. For example, a person’s name, card balance, points collected, etc.
Select a dynamic value if you anticipate the value will change and will be unique for each user.
Passholder can change default value:
Ticking this box allows the pass holder to customize their pass, and for the business to collect user data. When this box is ticked, it will require the pass holder to input relevant data on the pass distribution page before adding the pass to their mobile wallet.
Formatting Options:
Adjust text alignment and select the relevant data type.
Notification to display when data changes
You must always put a notification change message for each dynamic field entry. The short code %20 represents the data that has been changed.
Examples:
‘You now have %20 points’
‘%20’ will simply show whatever the dynamic data is
Keep the notification to a maximum of 20-23 characters, otherwise the text will get cut off.
1 - Top section Details
Click on the first edit button (inside the red box) to bring up the section where you can put details for the top part of your pass.
2 - Item Name

3 - Item Data
This is the corresponding value of the Item Name. Since this is a discount coupon, we will put a value of $100 as a the discount value.
4 - Midsection Details
Click on the third Edit button to edit the mid section details. This will show the section where you can put details below the strip image. The purpose of this is that this will allow you to edit the status of the pass once it is redeemed.
5 - Item Name
Enter the Item Name details like the ID of the field then the Item Label.
6 - Item Data
For the Item Data, we set it to Dynamic so that it can be changed once the pass has been redeemed. We set the Default Value to Valid for Discount for this tutorial
7 - 2D Barcode
Click the last Edit button to edit the details of your pass' barcode.
8 - Barcode Type
Select which type of 2D barcode to include into the pass. For this tutorial, we select a QR code. Also, we opt that the URL to update the pass to be included within the QR code. Alternative Text allows you to choose what type of text that will appear below the 2D barcode. For this exercise, we choose to display the serial number of the pass.
9 - PassVerifier App Encryption (Optional)
